  • Andrea Spencer, Director of Communications and Marketing for the Nonprofit Center (NPC), and Kimberly Govan, Director of Membership and Programs, shared the following:
    • Did you know that nonprofits:
      • provide 6% of all jobs in the Northeast Florida area
      • generate $3.8 billion in revenue and hold an estimated $5.8 billion in assets?
  • The NPC helps nonprofits communicate their tremendous impact to local politicians and businesses
  • It offers advocacy, networking, marketing, education, and research.

  • Four attendees at our meeting are currently members, and each stated that they’ve benefited significantly from their membership.  In particular:
    • Christy F. stated that The Way benefited from the Community Coach program, which helped them develop their board.
    • Steve M. said he has partnered with various organizations through the monthly “CEO Confidential” networking group.
  • Membership is on a sliding scale, based on the size of your organization.

      • This informal meeting will give us all a chance to chat, get to know each other, identify needs, and uncover ways to help each other out.  A MUST in this tough economy!
      • October meeting: “Lessons Learned and Applied from the Reinhold Nonprofit Team Leadership Training.”
        • Rescheduled from July, please join us as John Cone of BASCA, Cindy Stewart of The Shepherd’s Center, and our one & only Lee Sackett of CJ Acres Animal Rescue talk to us about their real-world experiences applying new ideas on fundraising, volunteer management, and board development that they gleaned from their Rollins College instructors.  A true growth opportunity!
